Inhalt

Within the scope of the present work, the aim was to examine what influence ARNE educational program can have on the psychological stress of adult patients with AD and what interactions with endocrine-immunological and dermatological processes prevail. For this purpose, the intervention group (SND, n=34) was examined and compared with the ND control group (KND, n=33) and a healthy control group (KO, n=34) with regard to psychometric, clinical-dermatological and biological stress parameters. To assess the stress level, questionnaires (PSQ and PSS) were evaluated and the biological parameters IgE, cortisol, BDNF and SLURP-1 were examined using blood samples and quantitative measurements using ELISA. The study was conducted over a period of three months and compared date 1 at the start of the study with date 2 after the end of the study. It was shown that AD-patients were exposed to higher levels of psychosocial stress at the start of the study compared to the healthy control group. There was also an association of stress levels with AD severity, measured using SCORAD. The ARNE educational program could not produce a statistically significant change in psychological stress. At the endocrine level, we were able to show that the neurotrophin BDNF predicted psychological stress in the intervention group, while the HPA stress marker cortisol was predicted by psychological stress. It is also interesting that less stressed patients benefited more from the program through better skin condition. We assume that more intensive psychotherapeutic interventions are required in order to be able to have a significant influence on the psychosocial stress of AD-patients and that the multidimensional therapy concept of the ARNE training is not sufficient on its own.
